Artesharrock was set up in 2019 to sell the ceramics and small paintings, prints and drawings created by Estell Sharrock while she was studying for a Fine Arts and Visual Culture Bachelors double degree,
Estell began as a self-taught artist who contributed to a few local exhibitions in New Zealand while raising a family but took a break from painting when she settled in Western Australia in 2005 .However by 2007 she craved a creative outlet so she started taking ceramic hand building classes at a local community art group, which reignited her artistic passions and began a love for creating sculptural forms.
Estell has had many career changes during her lifetime but in 2017 while working as a bookkeeper, Estelle started a Fine Art and Visual Culture Degree via Open Universities Australia.
By 2019 she had decided to fully concentrate on art, gave up her 9-5 and began selling her ceramic creations and small artworks under the trading name of Artesharrock at artisan markets in and around Perth. During that time she volunteered as a Kiln Operator, as a gallery sitter and assisting with gallery openings at ECU and worked as an assistant children's ceramic class teacher.
In 2023 Estell finally crossed the stage at Curtin University to officially receive her Bachelor of Arts degree double major with distinction. Stopped doing the market stall to concentrate on other things. She worked for six months as a children's ceramics teacher and ran a number of children's painting and ceramic hand building school holiday workshops and became a Volunteer Gallery Guide at Art Gallery of Western Australia.
In 2024 Estell has decided to officially stop trading as Artesharrock to concentrate on her art practice and her ongoing passion for guiding .
Thank you so much for your continuing interest.
